INFORMATION FOR MEMBERS

MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to anyone over the age of 18, although some experience of choral singing and music reading is helpful. There are no auditions, and prospective members are invited to attend 2 or 3 rehearsals free of charge to see how they get on. Further terms and conditions of membership can be found in the Choir Constitution, and prospective members can contact the Membership Secretary with any queries.

REHEARSALS AND CONCERTS
We rehearse on Tuesday evenings from 7.45 to 9.30 in the Longford Park Community Centre in Bodicote. (Postcode: OX15 4GJ - Click here for a map)

We perform 3 or 4 concerts a year in either Bloxham or Deddington and there are occasional workshops or 'come and sing' events.
In order to be as well prepared as possible for performance, members are expected to attend no less than 75% of rehearsals in each session. If additional absence is unavoidable, they are urged to take advantage of the rehearsal tracks provided and then make a responsible decision about whether they are confident enough to take part in the concert. The rehearsal on the afternoon of the concert is always compulsory.
Anyone who is unable to sing in the concert is of course welcome to come along on Tuesday evenings, with the exception of the final Tuesday of the session when we ask that only those taking part in the concert attend.

SUBSCRIPTIONS
Subs are payable each session, and vary depending on the length of the rehearsal period. The subs cover all our weekly running costs (rehearsal venue hire, Music Director's fee, Repetiteur's fee, insurance, Making Music subscription [for website and email hosting] and music hire fees).
The cost of concerts is met by ticket and refreshment sales and sponsorship.
Members are encouraged to pay their subs online but can also pay by cheque/cash at a rehearsal.

The cost of music hire is included in the termly subscription. Members are responsible for returning their copies after the concert, with all markings erased. Those who wish to use their own copies must have the appropriate edition.
